Parseq Plc acquires BPO firm Avance Ltd

Parseq  (LON:PSQ) (which recently changed its name from Intelligent Environments after its reverse acquisition of Documetric Ltd.) made further acquisitions in the fixed assets, staff and customer contracts of Avance Group Limited and Avance Rutherglen Limited.  Avance is a Customer Relationship Managment (CRM), credit management outsourcing and business intelligence provider that serves the utilities and telecommunications industries. Parseq paid £530,000 in cash for the Avance assets and will assume an additional £345,000 in customer and employee liabilities.  Including transaction costs, management expects the acquisition will cost a total  of c. £1.3 million and require a further £1.1 million in working capital before becoming cash positive sometime in 2011 – to be funded through existing cash and credit.

Teleperformance acquires beCogent

Teleperformance, a provider of outsourced CRM and contact centre services, has acquired 100% of the equity of UK-based beCogent, a provider of contact centre offerings.

beCogent has around 3,000 employees at its four call centers in Airdrie, Erskine, Kilmarnock and Glasgow and forecast 2010 revenue of approximately £50m.

The company is based in Scotland and has experience in numerous industry sectors, with an emphasis on the retail, financial services and telco/ISP industries.

Aon agrees to buy Hewitt for $4.9 billion

Insurance conglomerate Aon Corp. said Monday it has agreed to buy human resources specialist Hewitt Associates for $4.9 billion in a cash-and-stock deal that would nearly triple the size of its consulting business.

The deal, assuming it is approved by regulators, is the company’s biggest ever and dramatically expands its push into human resources consulting worldwide. Aon is the world’s largest insurance broker but trails rival Marsh & McLennan Co., whose subsidiaries include Mercer and Oliver Wyman Group, in the size of its consulting business.

Careline Services – New owners for outsource company

Careline Services, the outsource company , have announced that BPO company Hinduja Global Solutions (HGSL) have acquired 100 per cent stake in the company with plans to expand its operation in the European market.

Commenting on the acquisition  Hinduja Global Solutions CEO Partha Sarkar said, “This acquisition would act as a launch pad for HGSL to enter the UK and European markets, and will also be a platform to cross-sell its global delivery model to Careline’s European client base,” the city-headquartered HGSL said in a statement.

Mahindra Satyam BPO eyes acquisitions

The board of Mahindra Satyam is believed to have given its back-office unit in-principle approval to build platform-based BPO capabilities through acquisitions.

This marks a significant turnaround in the script of the former Satyam Computer Services which was on the verge of being consigned to the archives last year. Today, the strategy is clearly focused on making up for lost ground and time.

Essar’s Avaya arm buyout raises BPO hackles

MUMBAI: Essar group’s acquisition of AGC Networks from enterprise communications technology major Avaya has created a storm among backoffice firms that are its customers in India. Essar group’s business processing outsourcing (BPO) arm, Aegis, which will now own 59% or higher in AGC, competes with other backoffice firms in India for contracts.

Now these firms fear that sensitive information could leak to a competitor. Some of them, which have long-term contracts with AGC, are worried about the quality of service going down with the exit of Avaya, the parent.

UK’s Xchanging to buy Data Integration for about £9 million

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

ritish outsourcing group Xchanging Plc on Monday agreed to buy privately-owned Data Integration Ltd, a networking, security and communication technology provider in the UK for about £9 million in cash.

The company said it will make a guaranteed payment of £6.5 million in cash over a two-year period, with target earnings of about £2.5 million, subject to Data Integration (DI) delivering operating profit targets.

Apax takes lead stake in Tivit

Apax Partners has highlighted private equity’s growing appetite for emerging markets by acquiring a majority stake in Tivit, a Brazilian IT services and business process outsourcing provider, in a deal valuing the company at R$1.7bn ($950m).

The buy-out of Tivit would be Brazil’s biggest private equity deal, according to Dealogic, as the country’s strong economic growth and wealth of natural resources continues to attract the world’s biggest buy-out groups.

NorthgateArinso plans acquisition of Convergys to develop its global standing

NorthgateArinso is to strengthen its global position with plans to acquire the HR management division of US provider Convergys.

The transaction is worth approximately $85 million in cash at closing and $15 million in cash over three years. It involves NorthgateArinso acquiring the assets, including the global HR service delivery network and entire customer portfolio, of Convergys’ HR management division.

Convergys’ HR outsourcing customers will benefit from NorthgateArinso’s clear focus on HR software and services and from its world-class HR delivery capabilities. NorthgateArinso is known for its innovation in the sector, including the creation of platform-based HR Business Process Outsourcing (BPO).

IBM buys cloud computing software firm Cast Iron

Friday, May 7th, 2010

NEW YORK: IBM said it bought privately-held software company Cast Iron Systems to bolster its expertise in cloud computing, an increasingly popular technology that helps companies cut costs by enabling access to software online. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

International Business Machines Corp said on Monday the deal will help customers integrate various cloud applications from providers like Salesforce.com Inc, Amazon.com Inc, NetSuite Inc, as well as SAP.
